Benefits of Tea Tree Oil March 11, 2010The tea tree oil fight against many diseases due to their anti viral and anti fungal property.
The tea tree belongs to the family of Myrtaceae. Plants belong to this group are aromatic as they have glandular dots on their leaves when it is crushed it release essential oils. Its botanical name is Melaleuca alternifolia. This group of plants or shrubs is called trees and they have needle like leaves similar to cypress, with heads of sessile pale flowers. It is also seen as shrubs. Mainly these trees are found in Australia. There are other varieties of tea trees which have been cultivated in New South Wales. These trees or shrubs cannot be found anywhere. The oil taken from this is active against infectious organisms such as bacteria, fungi and harmful virus. The essential oil is taken when leaves are crushed. Leaves are crushed and applied to burns and sores. Water distillation of twigs and leaves is the method followed by the people to extract the oil.
The essential oil taken from this family is aromatic. They are used in aromatherapy, in curing infections and in immunization. Tea tree oil is used for skin care such as abscess, blisters, acne, rashes which include nappy rashes, burns, athlete’s foot, cold sores, warts, dandruff, wounds, insect bites and oily skin. This oil has antiseptic and bacterial properties so is used in treatment of insect bites, burns, cuts, wounds and infected splinters with puss also in the skin care for black spots, blackheads and acne etc., as antiseptic. It has anti viral and anti fungal property and helps to fight against measles, flu, chicken pox also for complaints such as cold sores, warts and verrucae.
Tea tree oil has good effects on genito- urinary system as a disinfectant. The oil has good effect on illness occur due to stress can also be cured. There are no contra indications regarding the beneficial oil. It is especially useful for respiratory infections i.e. bronchitis, sinusitis or cystitis, asthma, cough, tuberculosis, and whooping cough. In building strength to weak body under usage of heavy drugs after surgery or prolong ailment. Studies prove this can be treated for people suffering from AIDS. Large amounts cannot be used at one time. It has the features of being non-irritant and non-toxic so it used in cosmetic industries, in manufacturing deodorants, soaps, germicides, disinfectants, toothpastes, gargles. Fungal diseases affecting animals, fish and plants can also be got rid of when used in required amount and form.
Other benefits of tea tree oil are massages for stiff pain, to get relief from cold inhalation of the oil drops with steaming water. Massage of the oil strengthens the immune system. As disinfectant it can be used while taking bath to avoid skin infection for the young and the old. Tea tree oil also blend with spice oil, oak moss, marjoram, clove, lavender, pine etc to give various other beneficial products useful to mankind. Thus the tea tree oil shows a number of remarkable properties and effective oil for a wide range of complaints such as infections; cure for disorders and in treatment of dreadful decease also.
