Honey Skin Care
September 2, 2010

Honey skin care help body from various diseases by preventing oxidants contained in air pollutants from entering our body.

Medical science has begun to value the medical use of honey, although its healing properties have been known for centuries. It was used to treat a large list of medical complaints in early civilizations, and these included honey skin care.

There are properties of honey that make it an excellent skin care product.

When applied to the skin, honey acts as a natural moisturizer
, not because it is a moisturizer itself but because it traps and holds moisture from the air. One’s daily regimen might include such honey skin care, in the form of a type of “mask,” leaving the skin smooth and defined.

Honey has natural anti-oxidant ingredients and, as such, can help protect the skin from the airborne chemicals that are so damaging to skin. Air pollutants are known to be terribly damaging to the skin, as well as containing oxidants which cause disease. Honey skin care can help to prevent these oxidants from entering your body

Honey is now getting a second look from medical researchers as a natural anti-biotic. The recent worry about the development of resistance to man-made antibiotics means that we either have to produce even strong antibiotics every several years or begin to look for natural products which slow or destroy the growth of bacteria. Honey appears to have some enzymes that do just that. Honey skin care, then, can involve the use of it on the face to help stop bacteria growth in pores, as well as on burns, cuts, and other wounds. Pretty nifty, considering it is a relatively cheap product.

Honey skin care has achieved such popularity that major cosmetic corporations are now including it in all of their skin care products. Often, however, the amount of honey is such that its efficacy is not significant, so you might be better off creating your own honey skin care at home. Here are a few suggestions:

Make a face mask of honey and some other ingredients, such as oatmeal, egg white, or banana. Leave it on until dry, then rinse off. Tighter skin!!

An abrasive facial scrub can be made by combining honey with crushed pecans or almonds. Wet your face, scrub with this concoction and rinse off. Lots of dead skin cells will rinse off with it – a more beautiful you!

As a toner, mix honey with lemon juice, or blend it up with an apple – fruit acid is great for removing dead skin cells.

Get the ultimate honey skin care by pouring some in your bath – feels fabulous!

Use honey on dry chapped skin and scars. It has healing properties for these things as well.

Honey skin care can also include other byproducts of the wonderful bee that has been around for centuries. Wax and pollen are also used in a number of other medicinal products.

Of important note here is this: There is a major ecological concern regarding bees today. Scientists are discovering “colony collapse” all over the world, that is, hives in which the bees have all died for some unknown cause. There are plenty of hypotheses out there, but until specific causes are determined, please stop using your cell phones outside. It is a possibility that the waves are somehow messing up the bees’ natural radar. Without the radar they cannot live.
