Acne and Progesterone

Let’s first get proverbial with the two words. Acne is a skin quandary that affects the oil glands present in the skin. The small pores present in the skin connect our outer skin to the oil glands which are present under the skin. Sebum is the oil formed by those oil glands. The pores and skin are connected by a duct called follicle. Follicle also carries lifeless skin, which oil has to bring up to the skin’s surface. When some kind of impasse occurs at the aperture of follicle, a pimple grows. More often, these pimples occur on face, neck, back, shoulders, and chest. In women who are not pregnant progesterone prepare the much required lining of uterus for implantation by the fertilized egg. If progesterone levels are low, women may have difficulty in conceiving or in maintaining pregnancy.

Acne unfortunately affects millions of people around the world. In Accordance with the latest researches, there occurs a definite connection between acne and progesterone. Many experts seem progesterone as one of the major factor of acne in women. However other authorities claim that there is no bona fide connection between the progesterone and acne. Actually there occurs a hormonal imbalance which in turn occurs due to the significant increase in the secretion of progesterone during women’s mensAcne and Progesteronetruation. This is seen as another cause of acne in women.

Unfortunately, with the connection between progesterone and acne, the lipid forms into an unsolicited mass in the sebaceous glands. Hence there is an increase in sebum emission, and hence as a result, acne follows.

Many of the dermatologists who are closely observing the connection among them have concluded that the whole procedure (explained above) is one of the main stuff in support of connection. And hence what is concluded is that the high production of progesterone during menstrual phase leaves women in an unattractive and undesirable acne breakout.

No matter whatever be the conclusion the experts come to, it is foremost clear that acne is a chronic skin disorder that requires an enduring cure so that its culprits could live a life free of acne.
