Acne – The Skin Eater


Nowadays every teenager is conscious about his/her looks and appearance, may be because of the way modernization has engulfed our routines. In the race for looking the most beautiful girl or the most dashing boy, these youngsters also have to face many problems regarding their looks and appearance. Of these “many” problems, Acne is one of the severe ones to deal with. 9 out of every 10 teens encounter with this major problem of acne during their vital juvenile age. Acne not only harms them physically but also emotionally. Teen’s acne can range from gentle to a serious level.

Acne, a skin problem is characterized by pimples and zits and is mostly found on the face. Mild, Moderate & Severe are the different versions of this disorder. Mild acne is usually in the form of blackheads and whiteheads. Moderate acne may comprise of blackheads and irritated zits. Teenagers suffering from moderate acne are likely to develop red zits with white centers. Severe acne, the worst ones, is basically spotted by nodules which are commonly known as cysts. These Cysts are large, aching nodules on someone’s skin and can lead to scars finally. It is recommended to visit a doctor and do not start home medication under severe acne condition.

The main cause for acne is the gathering of excess of oil on one’s face. The surfeit oil along with greater than before skin growth and cracking of skin cells may choke one’s hair follicles. Due to this clogging of hair follicles acne gets developed over the surface of the skin. Teenagers suffering from acne problem become less sociable and hence they suffer in their studies. Fear is developed in their minds of not getting socialized because of their problem. So, under this pressure, they pop their zits making them more severe.

Different people adopt different ways to treat their acne problem. Acne is basically a teenage problem, but some adults too battle this problem. Almost every type of acne can be cleared with the help of a physician. So, acne has become an evil in the life of a teenager today.
