Almost each and every person is familiar with back acne and facial acne. Acne Keloidalis are often referred to as shaver bumps because they usually can appear in the areas where shaving is done, such as nape, neck or the beard area. One very interesting factor regarding acne Keloidalis is that it is more common among people of African origin.
Shaving is considered to be the best solution for removing the hair. After some days, you may see some itching and reddening on the shaved region. It also causes the ending of the hair to be very much sharp and it causes some skin irritation on shaved area. When hair grows and curves back, it can strike the skin surface and cause Acne Keloidalis, which is also one type of skin irritation. Acne Keloidalis breed when hair tries to grow back and meet some foreign body like dirt. If it is not treated instantly, this can cause more problems that generally come out in the neck and beard area.
This happens because, when you shave, the end of the hair becomes very sharp and this is main reason to cause irritation on the skin. As the hair grows on the skin it just curves backside and starts irritation in people who have a very thinned skin. It is also a kind of inflammation of the skin. Acne Keloidalis breeds when the edge of the hair meets a foreign body like dirt etc. If it is not treated properly and immediately, this can lead to harder bumps.
The perfect way to avoid the acne Keloidalis is to just keep away from shaving but it is not possible always, as you need to shave one time or the other. If it is not possible try to use some pre shaving schedule. In order to avoid these problems just make your hair soft with the help of washcloth, which is soaked in boiling water for few minutes, and apply a pre-shave gel to prepare your skin for shaving and you will achieve the best possible result. When you are shaving, you need to follow some precautions like the to shave in one direction only, keep away from extending your skin, electric shaver would be much better than a razor, try to shave maximum 3 to 4 times weekly instead of doing daily and do not shave very close to your skin surface.
If your dermatologist suggests, you can use shaving chemicals, which are useful to shave these chemicals, generally exist in shops. These products are so convenient and powerful that they can eliminate body and facial hair without doing any shave. They mainly contain barium sulfide depilatories and calcium thioglycolate, which can soften your hair very easily and thus, avoid shaving altogether. It is better to read all the instructions on the chemical before using it as it may cause skin burns if your skin is very sensitive.
Generally speaking, it would be a very good idea to not touch the face after shaving, as people suffering from acne aggravate it by touching with hand that is not clean. Now that we have discussed everything about acne Keloidalis, you would now know what to do when you have acne Keloidalis and should the problem of persist even after taking all the precautions mentioned above, it is better to contact your dermatologist to guide you in curing your acne Keloidalis.
