Blue Light Acne
July 20, 2008

Light is a natural and purest source of energy. The correct amount of light can help monitor our appetite and regulate our sleep patterns, but if it is in excess, it can even cause sunburn etc. It can increase our energy levels. The blue light can even be used to sterilize bacteria and heal the surface wounds. The blue light would make you feel more energetic, sleep more easily, and enjoy reading without straining your eyes. The blue light is both therapeutic and stylishly designed.

Light therapy mainly includes contact to particular wavelengths of light having fluorescent lamps, lasers, LEDs or very clear full-spectrum light for time period mentioned. It is also been proven to be very useful in regular affective disorder, treating Acne and for few people it have the ability to cure deferred sleep phase disease. Some recent studies it has proven to be very effective in some non seasonal depression. The proponents of light therapy claim provable benefits for various skin conditions like psoriasis. For thousands of humans have know that sunlight can cure a lot of skin disorders, even today doctors advise exposure to early sunlight in the morning and it was just a thought because of antibacterial and some other things of ultraviolet spectrum; which cannot be useful for long term treatments because that could damage your skin. Though, artificial UV light will work but it may not be as effective as sunlight.

The main process that is achieved through light therapy is that the observable violet light, which is there in sunlight from the range of 405-420nm which activates a porphyrin in Propionibacterium acnes, and kill the bacteria by discharging singlet oxygen. A total of 320J/cm^2 of light in this range makes bacteria not feasible. This portion of spectrum range is exterior to the ultraviolet, has minimal to no side effect on the skin.

Use of the blue light for three successive days was exposed to decrease bacteria in holes by almost 99.99%. And there are some porphyrins usually seen in skin, the cure is supposed to be very safe excluding in patients who are suffering with porphyria. Though eye safety is most important because of light sensitive chemicals present in retina. Such as intense bright LEDs or else dichroic filament bulbs and fluorescent lamps create this type of light. Healing is often go all along with the function of red light that is exposed to stimulate ATP in individual skin cells which also improves your response rates.

In all, one can say that the blue light is very effective when used on skin with acne, albeit it might not be as effective as natural light, but it does help in relieving the various skin and acne related disorders. It is also advisable to get up early in the morning as the early sunrise has lots of vitamin D and ultraviolet light, when exposed to it. This very ultraviolet ray is produced in an artificial manner to produce the blue light with the help of a blue light device that emits blue light that helps in curing the acne problems.
