Acne Scars Cream: Acne Cream Removal Scar
July 27, 2008

Acne scar creams are medications which are specifically designed to significantly diminish if not completely remove that scars that are a result of acne. Most people have had some form of acne in their life or at the very least know of someone close to them who has suffered from it. Acne is a problem mainly for teenagers. There are various ways that acne can prevent itself from pimples to blackheads. Acne may eventually go away but they will always leave behind scars. These scars can range of light scars on the top of the skin to deep pits and occasionally discolorations on the skin. Acne scar removal cream is often a good option for many people.

If you don’t want to undergo surgery or the frequent injections that are typically used in acne scar treatment then acne scar cream may be the option for you. However, if you experience lifestyle changes or disfigurement from you acne scars then you may try several forms of acne scar removal and find that the only option to help your scars is surgery.

How it Works

Acne scar removal creams work by flattening, softening, smoothing and healing the skin. Most of these creams have ingredients such as silicone gel, vitamins, botanical extracts and other natural ingredients. In some creams they will use alpha hydroxy acids to create an abrasive to help remove the top layer of the skin so the healthier skin underneath can be exposed to help make the scars less visible.

You should not apply any acne scar removal creams until the wounds of your acne are fully healed. Many of the products also contain anti-bacterials which help fight and treat the bacteria that causes the acne problems in the first place. However, if you experience any signs that show you are sensitive to the creams then you should discontinue use of the cream immediately.

Benefits of Using Cream

One of the primary benefits of using acne cream for scar removal is the fact that you can treat yourself at home with a topical application that isn’t as expensive or involved as surgery, lasers or injections.

However, acne scar removal creams will only work for some people. So you should try several creams to help find the one that clears you scars better than any other cream. Once you find one that works for your skin keep using that cream.

Always pay attention to the instructions since this will help you get the maximum benefits you can from you acne scar removal cream. If you do not get acceptable results after several applications of the cream then it is recommend you go to visit your dermatologist so they can discuss with you other treatment options available for you acne.

However, no matter what you choose you should always remember that there is no quick way to treat or remove acne scars. To completely see results from your acne scars you have to have patience. While acne can appear overnight getting rid of the effects can often take a lot longer.

Types of Acne Scar Creams

Mederma is one of the best known acne creams. It is a gel based medication that is very helpful for many people suffering from acne. If you have discoloration as a result of the scars then you can use bleach with hydroquinone while using this cream to help remove the scars.

nother cream option is ScarGuard ScarCare. This is a cream that has shown promise over the years. This cream particularly works for those with saucer-shaped scars or relatively new acne scars.

A third option is DermaNew Microdermabrasion Total Body Experience. This is a cream that contains no oils. By using this product with a topical Vitamin A derivative you can treat your acne scars.

Cellex-C is another cream for the removal of acne scars. As with DermaNew you should use this product along with a topical Vitamin A product to remove your acne scars. However, the two creams should be applied at separate times during the day.
